Notes from the owner. The Greavette has been in water only the last 6 years after the rebuild and mostly done with short excursions and shows. This sedan, unlike most hard top  sedans, has a planing hull which will propel the boat to speeds between 35 and 40 mph.  This is a great advantage, especially for longer distance travel or adverse weather conditions.

Gidley long deck launch finds a new home!

Congratulations to the buyer and seller of this graceful Gidley long deck launch. On the market for several years, the boat was originally priced at $80,000 and the price eventually reduced to $35,000. Surely the purchaser has obtained outstanding value for his purchase. (Description and additional photos below.)

This beautiful, historic Gidley long deck launch went through a total restoration about ten years ago, costing $150,000.  The hull is cedar on oak.  (Length, 27 ft, beam 6 ft.)
The owner passed away a year later and the Gidley has been in storage ever since.   The boat’s name is “Black Cat”.  (Note the cat’s head on top of the gear shift lever.)  “Black Cat” comes with a storage trailer.
