A Port Carling SeaBird in Germany:
For a follow-up post on Arne’s beautiful Port Carling SeaBird, (see post of Feb 1, 2013) he sent these additional photos and information about his new completed wooden beauty. Enjoy.
The Boat was built in 1950 and originally the Boat had a Chris Craft 185 Engine. For more comfort I installed a new Volvo 4.3 GXI Engine with 225 HP in but the old one is of course kept for the

Isn’t amazing that Canadian classic boats have travelled to many parts of the world? Arne B. from Hamburg Germany, sent us these photos of his 1950, 20 foot Port Carling SeaBird, apparently needing construction plans for some “refitting”. (Bottom work required). We referred him to the Muskoka Boat and Heritage Centre. This gorgeous SeaBird doesn’t look like it needs ANYTHING! Arne cruises his boat on the Elbe River. It was purchased in 2010 after a restoration by Classic Boat Amsterdam. No-one is sure how the SeaBird arrived in Europe! (See photos below)
