Lake Muskoka - Miramichi Island cottage rental
Southwest facing property boasting 600ft of private water frontage on beautiful Lake Muskoka
All day sun, watch it go down over sunset bay and dine under the stars at our huge custom built stone fireplace: right at the water's edge. An amazingly renovated 'old muskoka cottage' in the heart of cottage country. This nicely appointed lake house has a new open concept, stone and hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings with exposed pine beams and views of the lake throughout. There's a new kitchen (custom cabinets and modern appliances replaced summer 2004), and a smartly updated living room complete with a new Swedish built Jotel woodstove for those romantic evenings by the fire. Two good sized bedrooms in the main house and a great attached bunkie sleeping cabin. Two double beds, two singles and two couches. Please bring your own linens and towels. Out front there's a 12X40 deck out front where you can relax outdoors on teak garden furniture while taking in wide views of the bay and of the huge pines that abound. Best of all is the waterfront where you can barbecue and dine in front of a huge stone fireplace, swim to the sandy cove or (for the adventurous ones) try doing a lap or two around the island. Always a favourite pastime is jumping off the dock after a sauna- invigorating- New rain shower in the boat house for warming up after early season swims. Ample moorage is provided at our post and beam boat house with wrap around cedar docks- can accommodate boats up to 35'.+
A two person kayak is include and a small pontoon boat w/25hp outboard is available for commuting to/from the mainland provided proof of boating skills. Located between Bala and Port Carling off of Dudley Bay Rd or Acton Island Road. The island is accessible by a short 1km jaunt from hwy 169. Marinas, shopping, restaurants, resorts, and Muskoka's best nightlife are in Bala, just a short 5minute drive away (or boat there in 10 minutes). The trendy shops of Port Carling are almost as close 10minute drive away. Cost: 1500 per wk. May-June, Sept-Oct. -1800 per wk. July-Aug. +1000 deposit refundable on departure.
