Our newest listing: a charming antique cocktail launch, 26′, 1931

May 18, 2017 in Uncategorized

Notes from the owner:
This beautiful cocktail launch (builder unknown)  was purchased in Sarnia from a gentleman who bought it from the widow of a Great Lakes captain, who had started it in the 1930s.  The launch, with a hull of cedar and white oak, was totally restored using the West System over mostly new wood in the 1990s. The boat is powered by a three cylinder, 20 hp. diesel engine (1990) with only 110 hours . The sale includes a 1990 custom tandem axle trailer with surge brakes and additional equipment.  Price: $24,500. A WORD OF CAUTION TO OUR BOATING COMMUNITY FRIENDS:
Water levels in the Great Lakes and Muskoka region remain high from the spring runoff. Floating debris, submerged docks and cold water temperatures can make for a deadly combination. Two drowning deaths (both alcohol related) have already occurred in Ontario. Please boat cautiously and safely this weekend.
