Gentleman's Racer, 1921, 33' (Robert Yandt Boatworks)
GREYHOUND was completed by Robert Yandt Boatworks and
began its regional racing history as a Gentleman's Race Boat on beautiful Lake
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. This 33 foot beauty roared around the lake, winning a
series of competitions and proving the aptness of her name. Meticulously
restored to her original glory by professional boat restorer Alan Thomle (winner
of multiple awards for his restorations) she is a speedy work of art. Cold
molded West System processes make this Gentleman's Race Boat a craft that can be
enjoyed, not just showcased. Powered by a custom modified and marinized Marine
Power 330HP engine, this boat is barely breathing at 40 MPH. Features include
custom African mahogany bucket seats, African mahogany grated floors, Rolls
Royce replica gauges, and many original deck hardware pieces. The forward
cockpit has a v-berth with porta-potty. With the Hacker Craft bottom design she
is comfortable at any cruising speed on smooth water or in a chop. The seller
offers reasonable custom additions by Alan Thomle as part of the purchase
agreement to further satisfy the buyer's desire for a truly unique and
show-worthy vessel.
The restoration of GREYHOUND has just been completed, and this boat is being
brought onto the market for sale. It's new owner will have the opportunity of
entering her into classic yacht competitions and bringing home the trophies she
deserves!

The restorer was able to save about 60% of the original oak frames
and cypress hullsides. He then cold molded marine plywood using West
System processes onto the hullsides, decks, and built an entire new
bottom. The covering boards, interior, dash, seats, and sealing
boards are all of ribbon-grain African Mahogany
