Wooden sailing skiff and rowboat, 16', 2001
(Whitehall design, by Tim Jones)

This boat is a reproduction of famous 19th century
"Whitehall" harbour taxis. The lines are taken from Howard
Chapelle's American Small Sailing Craft. Staying true to the form
it is carvel planked with eastern white cedar except the shear
strakes which are white oak. The fastenings are copper and stainless
steel. All the structural components are white oak. The frames are
steam bent, the stem, floors, knees, and breast hook are all cut from
grown oak crooks. The beauty of this elegant boat is the simplicity
of the loose footed sprit rig and the ease with which the hull is
driven, under sail or oar. The rig stows in the boat and can be
rigged in 2 minutes.
The price includes a choice of oars and a new galvanized trailer.
