This 1957 Greavette, powered by a 6 cylinder, 130 h.p. Buchanan engine,
has been in the same family for over 50 years.
It was purchased brand new from the Greavette Boats Ltd. in
Gravenhurst Ontario in 1958. It is serial number 3 which you can find
stamped on many of the wood panels and the dash plate. If you do some
research you will find that this boat is a true classic. It has way
more style than most Centurys or Chris Crafts and is way more rare.
It was shipped to Crane Lake, Ontario where it spent its entire in
water life. It had some minor refinishing and wood work in 1971 at
the Greavette Factory and was returned to Crane lake after that. It
was stored in a boathouse so it was never out in the sun or rain
except when it was driven. It even spent the winters in the boathouse
but was lifted out of the water. I don\'t know how many hours it has
but it was not ever used much  and the oil was changed every year. It
was always winterized and very well cared for. Time had taken its toll
on our boat and in 1995 the decision was made to bring it to the U.S.
to evaluate restoring it. It was trailered to the U.S. It was
partially disassembled for inspection. The engine was fogged with oil
and the cooling systen was filled with antifreeze. The gas was drained
after fuel stabilizer was put in.  The windshield is not included but
the brackets are included. The rudder propeller and wooden hatches
for the floor are included. The engine ran great  and it drove under
it\'s own power to the trailer. The pictures in the water are it\'s
last voyage on Crane Lake and I started it on 10/4/09 just to make
sure it is ok and it runs great.  It has been re winterized and is in
storage indoors.  It will need the bottom replaced to make it sea
worthy but the wood from about the spray rail up is in good shape
except in the rear. Please view the video in the listing to see more
detail and see the engine run.  We don\'t have the time to use the
boat and it may be time for someone else to enjoy this family
treasure. The trailer is included with the purchase. Please email or call John Walker at 724-825-5514 or john.walker.1@hotmail.com if you
have any questions. Thanks for viewing our listing. To view photos and a video of the Greavette, please use on the link below
