The Giesler Boat Company, a family owned operation, has been creating cedar-strip canoes and  runabouts for decades. The company’s light-weight, functional and economical water-craft are particularly popular with fishermen, camp owners and First Nations groups. Giesler Boats: a family tradition for 90 years!

The Giesler Boat Company in Powassan, Ontario, has been building cedar-strip runabouts and canoes for ninety years! Their economical, practical and light-weight boats are favourites with fishermen and lodge owners.The 18 foot Nipissing model is the flagship watercraft of the fleet,  though Giesler will build a boat up to twenty feet in length. As well as new builds, the Company spends considerable time refurbishing and refinishing watercraft of all stripes for their customer base.  Enjoy the video below.

Peterborough Nomad: 16 ft, 1958
The Nomad is a quintessential “cottager boat” that you can tour, fish and ski from. Original cedar hull, with mahogany decks, seat and transom. The chrome is original. The restoration, including ribbing and an epoxy treatment for the hull, has brought the boat to pristine condition.

The canvas top is in great condition and has all the zip-in windows. The mooring cover is brand new and unused.

The matching motor is a mechanically perfect 35 hp. Johnson Sea Horse outboard. (with approx. 4-6 hours of run time) painted in classic maroon and cream.

The rarely used modern trailer is in top condition.

Included are all those accessories needed to enjoy the boat: anchors, vintage skis and swim ladder, brand new bumpers, trailer guides, interior upholstery for seats, etc.

This is a complete package. Just add water.

Peterborough Nomad:,  17 ft, 1959
This delightful little doll is the dream of all boaters and nicknamed “The Cupcake”.

Lovingly restored by a Peterborough aficionado in 2010 and meticulously maintained by the owner. Stored on a lift in a boat house during the summer and in a professional marina storage facility during the winter. Included is the original trailer, 35 hp Johnson Super Sea Horse motor, custom cover and other vintage details.

In the mid to late 50\’s, fiberglass boats were beginning to be made and cedar strip or wooden boats were thought be out of style so Peterborough Boat Works started to paint the hull of their cedar strip boats white to look like the new fiberglass boats.

The sale includes a single axle Tee Nee trailer restored in 2010 and in excellent condition.

Make this beauty the cherry on your vintage boat collection or an excellent start to your dream wooden armada.
