Historic  Gidley inboard dory: 16 ft., 1915!

This VERY rare (likely the only one in existence) Gidley dory, built in Penetanguishene, Ontario in 1915, has spent most of its life on Sparrow Lake.  The current, second owner is downsizing his collection of wooden boats and would like to see the Gidley refurbished by a new owner. A new white-oak shaft log has been installed in the boat.  Apart from that, the vessel is structurally sound. The single cylinder Adams  “Make and Break” engine is not seized. Surprisingly, and fortunately, the original owner’s manual for the engine is included in the sale.
The purchaser of this Gidley will take possession of a really rare, historic vessel and have the satisfaction of bringing “her” back to life!

Price: $3,000   Ad number pb791
