We have been instructed by the owner to reduce the price on three vintage Muskoka-built wooden boats. The description and new prices are listed below.

Port Carling SeaBirD:, 21 ft, 1941
This beautiful twin cockpit SeaBird was completely restored – wood, motor and chrome – in 2010 by Curtis Hillman, a renowned Muskoka craftsman. The boat is in excellent condition.

Duke Playmate: 19 ft., 1930
This charming but very functional Playmate was refinished in 2009 by Stan Hunter. It features side steering, and custom cushions. The Playmate is in excellent condition.

Duke Playmate: 17 ft, 1938
This charming Duke has been stored indoors year round. (The photos attest to the excellent condition of the finish). The “Playmate” was restored in the 1990’s. The sale includes custom cushions made a few years ago and custom paddles.

Shepherd Utility: 22 ft, 1953  (above)
Notes from the owner:
This beautiful 1953 Shepherd 22’ utility runabout African mahogany boat has won many boat show awards. She is powered with original 150 HP Gray Marine engine, Paragon hydrostatic transmission, and new 12 volt Dura test 84 mo. 1000 CCA battery. Boat was restored by Woodwind Yachts, Nestleton, Ontario, Canada, making this Shepherd a special eye-catcher in any boating event. Attention during restoration was made to original details.

Beautiful Shepherd on the market: plus Breen project #3

Our newest listing: an eye-catching Shepherd runabout, 22 ft., 1952.
This beautiful classic Shepherd has been well maintained over the years. Restorative efforts include: some planking and bottom boards replaced in 2007. The transom and some bottom frames have also been replaced. The boat appears sound and reveals evidence of good workmanship undertaken during the restorative process.
The Shepherd is powered by an 8 cylinder Hemi engine, (331 cubic inch) in good running condition. (The engine was rebuilt in 1985 by Pal Engines of Orillia, Ontario).

The runabout comes complete with a full winter cover and a full top and back for summer use. Also included in the sale is a road-worthy tandem axle trailer..

Peter Breen reports that “This is the 20′  Greavette Shearliner with a  new bottom and  a “freshen up” coming along for summer delivery.” No doubt the owner will be delighted with this born-again Greavette.

Shepherd runabout: 18 ft. 1955

Notes from the owner:
“This boat has been in storage for approximately 30 years. She is all original with the exception of a port window glass which is now molded plexi-glass. One stitch in a seat has let go. Fabric is aged. Varnished once in 1990. Always kept indoors. Powered by a 135 hp, six cylinder Chrysler Special Crown engine. The sale includes a custom tandem axle trailer. You have to see this boat to believe it! Have all original paper work and manuals.”

Price: $14,500.

Shepherd Deluxe Sportsman 22′, 1948…a beautiful restoration

Enjoy the video of this Shepherd Deluxe Sportsman, for sale on the Port Carling Boats website. The Sportsman was displayed at last week’s ACBS Gravenhurst Boat Show. This boat is a wonderful example of a first class, professional restoration.

Rare Shepherd runabout: 16 ft: 1960

Unique Shepherd design with flared quarters and transom. Always in boathouse in wet slip for past 30 years. Shown at ACBS and MLA boat shows. Needs some upholstery work to improve finish. Varnish and chrome has been kept up. (The Shepherd is powered by a Chrysler Marine 6 cylinder, 90 hp. (twelve volt) engine in good condition.)
