Like many of the cabins on Lake of the Woods, boats can also have a long history with the area. Michael Sellors bought Vixen, a 1949 mahogany Chris Craft, about 15 years ago. He spoke about the history of the boat.
“It’s been on the lake all its life. It was custom made for the Black family, Conrad Black famous in the news. So this is their family boat. Then the Riley family married into the Black family and then they sold it. There were a few more owners but then I picked it up,” he said.
Sellors launched the boat for the first time this summer this weekend. In true wooden boat fashion, Vixen breezed through the waves driving smoothly and calmly from the new Cameron Bay marina to the docks in front of Q104.
Sellors spoke about why he wanted a wooden boat.
