Asking Price: $20,000
Greavette Sheerliner; 22 ft., 1953
Notes from the owner below
This classic Greavette was restored with a new bottom approximately fifteen years ago. It has been regularly maintained since then. The utility style layout accommodates up to eight persons. The boat is fully functional and ready for a new home.
Additional notes: ” She was built at the Greavette Boat Works on Muskoka Bay , close to where Boston Pizza now stands. Prior to its construction, all the previous boats were custom orders. Mine was #3 of 6 boats built on spec.
The first owner was nicknamed Tiny , and was so big , the boat originally had an iron counterweight to the left of the keel specifically for him. The second owner was Jack Greer who owned the Gulf dealership on #11 just south of town.
I was the third owner , buying the boat in 1974.
The bottom was replaced around 18 years ago and remains sound.
Other than switching to a 12 volt system , all the parts are original(?) except when things like a fuel pump was replaced.
Originally there was no bilge pump. Now there is.
At one time there was a vinyl boat top ( roof??) , but was not practical as if it was in place it sat so low there was very little headroom. This was removed by me.
