CNIB Cruise Date Change
July 28, 2021 in Uncategorized
The date for the poker run, organized by the Lake Joseph CNIB camp, has changed from July 10th to Saturday, August 14th. Boats are to gather at 9:00 and the cruise starts at 10:00. The exact route is unknown at this time, but the poster indicates two routes, one on Lake Muskoka and one that combines Lake Joseph and Rosseau.
The cruise is to celebrate and recognize the 60th anniversary of the camp. I remember the former Lt. Gov. John Aird as a big supporter of the camp and he would schedule regular stops to raise its profile. You can register at cnib.ca/docktodock. Contact the CNIB Lake Joseph camp for the latest info on the cruise.
The event is ramping up to be quite special with “celebrity” visits, treats and special entertainment. The camp is a special jewel of Muskoka that offers summer water fun for youth who might not otherwise have such an opportunity. The reason for the date change isn’t clear, but COVID restrictions may have played a role, despite the outdoor venue and distancing in the boats.
It may be a summer of sudden revisions and additions as government policies change, so keep a close eye on appropriate websites for the latest. Most of the large events, like the boat shows, take months of planning so decisions had to be made back in February.
