Explosion in 1950’s Chris-Craft Injuries Several Boaters
In this recent Lake Lanier Chris Craft fire, a small child was blown out of the boat. Although the cause of this explosion has not been determined, the most likely suspects would be a) a leak in the gas tank, b) failure to activate the blower before starting the engine, or c) a fuse or wiring issue.
It is important to have an electrical fuse box, to ground your gas tank, to check regularly for possible gas leaks and of course, to run your blower before starting the engine. Caution makes for safe boating.
