New photos and video of rare Richardson Picnic Launch

Richardson Picnic Launch: 22 ft, 1939
This rare Richardson launch underwent extensive refurbishing in 2010 by Barron’s Custom Boats in Midland, Ontario. More than $23,000 in restorative work was carried out (including a new hard top). According to an available marine survey by Barrie Marine Surveyors and appraisers in 2010, reported that the boat is in “exceptionally good condition, considering her vintage.” The Richardson is powered by a 4 cylinder 1981 Volvo Penta engine, (135 b.p.h.) The marine survey estimated the fair market value of “Babe” at $33,000 to $35,000

The launch is turn-key and ready for inspection.
Original price:$20,000.
New price: (March, 2020) $15,000 or best offer. Owner will consider a trade for a vintage auto.

Four recently sold boats!

Congratulations to the buyers and sellers of the four handsome classics below. What a perfect time to be enjoying adventures on the water!

Shepherd runabout: 22 ft., 1956
This well maintained boat is powered by a 135 hp engine. The sale included a tandem trailer. The asking price was $24,500 CAD

Duke Utility, 21 ft., 1962
This one family boat was largely original, but well maintained. It is powered by an 8 cylinder Buchanan engine. The asking price was$12,000 CAD
Grew Cruiser, 14 ft,. 1959 (below)
This boat has had a recent new bottom. Powered by a 40 hp Evinrude outboard and complete with a trailer. The asking price was $5,000 CAD

The Duke below is powered by a 6 cylinder Slant Six engine. Although wood and engine work is required on the boat, it sold in a flash for a mere $1,500 CAD

1920s double end mahogany and cedar rowing skiff.  Two sets of oar locks and two seats…believed to be a Ditchburn or Minett…all original boards…excellent condition.

What a great way to celebrate Earth Week! Enhance the Covid-19 quiet with even greater silence on the water with these two “human propelled” water-craft.

Vintage double-ender lapstrake rowing skiff: 16 ft.

Sixteen foot. wooden double-ender row boat, constructed using clinker (lapstrake) style planking. Similar to Matinicus Peapod but no provenance. Was obtained on Manitoulin Island in Ontario. Stripped by current owners and ready for refinishing. Some repair needed (possibly keel-strip) Four oars available, two original with oar locks and two without oar locks. Sixteen foot, cedar-strip canoe with caned seats in meticulous condition. Built in 1972 by a master carpenter in Goderich, Ontario  Always stored inside. One owner.
