Our newest listing; a 26 ft. W.G. Noble sloop

April 17, 2020 in Uncategorized

Ahoy mateys! If you’re looking for a beautiful, reasonably priced sloop, look no further!

(Notes from the owner below)

G.W Noble Sloop; 26 ft., 1966

“Felicity”

Beautiful 26’ sloop built in 1966 by G.W. Noble in Thornbury Ontario. Mahogany planked over laminated oak ribs; all bright work is mahogany except Sitka mast/boom. Cabin construction seems to follow 1949 drawing of “Tradewinds” by Crocker except for squaring off of the forward cabin end. Meticulously maintained with yearly re-varnishing of all bright-work, mast and boom. 6 cyl. Renault diesel engine with low hours. Bathroom available but unused by current owners. Forward bunk and 2 side seat/bunks in main cabin with cushions. Small sink in main cabin and electrical capabilities but no stove. There are cushions for the front berth. Inside winter storage yearly. 3 sails with newer storage bags, dock-box, bumpers and trailer included.

Length 25’ 9/10

Breadth (beam)  8’ 9/10

Hold depth 3’ 4/10

Depth deck top mid-ship to keel bottom 5’ 2/10

Engine room length 3’ 5/10

Notes from the family:
“The engine is a two cylinder Renault with very low hours as it was only used for entering and leaving the dock The engine has only required routine maintenance.
My mom has no idea about time on the engine but I think if it had 100 hours I’d be surprised. As my parents aged they only did short sails and used it more like a cottage. The trailer is used yearly to take it to and from storage and looks sturdy but there’s no name on it. Looks very much like custom built for the boat itself. The boat is located in Goderich, which is where it went in 1980 when my parents bought it.”

(Editor’s note: The sloop’s owner died in 2018  The sale is being carried out under the auspices of the family. The boat has not been in the water since 2017 but was always very water-tight. The sloop is now ready for a new home).
