Wooden boats excite the Muskokans!
Many thanks to our secret sleuth for discovering this recent wooden boat activity on the Muskoka Lakes.
Boomerang
Got into Port Carlng early yesterday and met up with the owner of Boomerang; a 27 year old 29.5 ft. torpedo hull built by Van Dam Boats in Boyne City Mi. This wonderful boat has book matched mahogany planking that is flawless today. The boat is beautifully balanced and leaps out of the water like a ballerina. She is a masterpiece in her own right and a tribute to Baby Bootlegger. I love this picture because if you look carefully at the hull you can see the other side of the lake reflected on the side of the boat; Now that is a mirror finish!!
Speedboats and chopper
…Out on the water yesterday with my boat.
Had some fun up on Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph dodging the rollers thrown up by 30 to 50 ft race boats with various engine configurations. They had one thing in common; lots of horse-power! They came complete with a Helicopter for filming. It was quite a sight!
