This “Dippy” was number seven built in 1952 by Greavette. It is powered by a Coventry/Victor engine and includes the original device, which allows the drive shaft and propeller to be retracted into the hull of the boat. This allows the Dippy to be beached virtually anywhere. The engine and device were both restored by Paul Doddington. This gorgeous mahogany boat was lovingly restored by Bert Trollope. The sale includes a tarp, cushions and a singe axle trailer.
Additional; notes from the vendor below: (Sept/2019)
“In terms of the restoration, it was completed in 2000. The boat has not been in the water for a few years because my father has been in declining health. My father documented the restoration quite thoroughly and we have a photo album that illustrates the restoration process.”

Waterford Disappearing Propeller Boat reproduction: 16.5 ft. 1980s
This replica Waterford “Dispro” was a project undertaken by Hugh Thompson of Orillia, Ontario, who passed away before the boat could be completed. The current second owner is downsizing his boat collection, and is looking for a new home and an enthusiast to complete the project.. The lines for the Waterford were taken from a deteriorated 1913-1914 model. The planking is cypress. Included in the sale is the dispro mechanism and materials to complete the boat, including rudder, ribbing supplies, etc. This Dippy will make a wonderful winter project. Add an engine of your choice (even electric!) and go!.
