Our newest listing: A Crouch designed replica hydroplane race boat; 19 ft. 2000
This unique hydroplane, “Commander McBragg”, is a reproduction of George Crouch’s famous 1912 hydroplane race boat. The racer was built in 2000 by talented and meticulous craftsman, David Berg of Berg Boats, in Washington State, USA.
Now you can “have your cake and eat it too”. Enjoy the thrill of piloting a “century old” race boat in excellent condition without worrying about a one hundred year old hull!
“Commander McBragg” represents one of the first, if not the first, stepped hydroplane designs. Built in 2000, it features African mahogany decks and transom, red cedar sides and mahogany plywood bottom. The hardware was custom fabricated to be true to the design of the original boat. “Commander McBragg” is powered by a 1936 Ford flathead V8 engine in good condition. The racer has won numerous boat show awards.
